She found overnight fame on the sketch comedy series, and spent two years being doused with water every time she said the phrase "Sock it to me!". There's no way to explain to anyone who didn't live through it what a phenomenon NBC-TV's Laugh-In was. Judy Carne was the "It Girl" of her time. Rest in peace.
